It all starts with networking and business relationships, right? That being said, Mark Carter started 15 years ago creating, teaching, and training business networking and referral systems both online and offline. These were created through interviews with amazing experts and mentoring experiences which lead to thousands of conversations to study exactly how people and organizations find the advice, support and connections they need to solve problems. After getting tired of elevator pitches, death by PowerPoint and high pressure sales presentations Mark realized something else: The best relationships, clients and sales opportunities came through storytelling. Storytelling helps people really get to know each other and gives companies and organizations a human side; something to tell your friends about (i.e. word of mouth marketing). Storytelling is the best way to give advice and get your point across; it's also the crux of mentoring. Mark has created a case study to demystify mentoring by interviewing thousands of people about their experiences. This created new ways and strategies to create organic mentoring opportunities for individuals and groups that go far beyond the traditional "match making" process of pairing people based on profiles.
