Gil is an entrepreneur who is passionate about scaling up both for-profit and non-profit enterprises. He owns and operates several companies that have won many local and national awards for best place to work, fast growth, and quality of service. He also owns and serves on the boards of several other businesses, including a vitamin company, an internet retailer, and a real estate holding company. Prior to opening New Horizons, Gil was an attorney at the international law firm, White & Case, where he practiced corporate securities and mergers and acquisitions law. A key part of Gil's life is participating in the community. He co-founded, with his wife Elise, Gazelles Social Initiatives, whose purpose is to increase the effectiveness of social sector organizations. Currently, he serves on the boards of Shalom Learning and Miami Lighthouse for the Blind and is past chair of YPO Miami and on the executive committee of Florida Congressional Campaign Committee. Recently, he served as chair of the Scheck Hillel Community School and Board of Memorial Hospital/Joe DiMaggio Hospital Foundation. Gil serves or has served on several community boards, including Hillel-The Foundation for Jewish Campus Life, Greater Miami Jewish Federation, AIPAC - Miami, Beacon Council, Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce, Regional Business Alliance, Center for Advancement of Jewish Education, and Beth Torah synagogue. He also chaired the Entrepreneur's Organization – South Florida.
