Camryn Williams is a Software Engineer and Developer Evangelist for Clarifai in New York City. She is a back-end engineer on the API team, focusing on Python and Go. Camryn has previous experience working in Java and JavaScript. She is a leader in the developer community known for her active roles in hackathons, meetups, and conferences around the world. As a Developer Evangelist, Camryn has experience in public speaking, teaching, mentoring, and marketing. Prior to joining Clarifai, Camryn graduated in December 2015 from Iowa State University with a bachelors in Computer Science and Spanish. Camryn has previously interned for Microsoft as a front-end engineer, Google as a full-stack engineer, and Apple as a back-end engineer and mobile engineer. She is very passionate about mentorship, education, and technology. Outside of the technology industry, Camryn's other passions include eating, musicals, and Pokemon (in no particular order).

This will be an open-session, live-coding program to teach you how to set up a front-end and back-end Java web environment. I will walk you through how to set up a Java Maven MVC server using Spring Tool Suite and Apache Tomcat. Prior experience with Java is required. No experience with Maven is necessary.
