How to Change Everything By Not Changing Anything At All

Franklin Leonard

Franklin Leonard tells the story of the Black List and how a simple survey of the film industry’s best unproduced screenplays has changed the fortunes of hundreds of screenwriters and helped dozens of major Hollywood motion pictures get made, including four of the last eight Best Pictures and nine of the last eighteen scripts awarded a screenwriting Oscar. This talk (and Q&A) blends a singular insider’s perspective on Hollywood with lessons that any organization can apply on information, how it’s shared, and how even the most minor of changes in a system can pay big dividends as a tide that raises all boats.
